Central West Contact Service

........................
.................................................

Central West Contact Service (CWCS) is an independent service for families who are unable to resolve conflict around Contact and Changeover arrangements for their children.

CWCS endeavours to provide a relaxed, safe, child-oriented environment for children and their parents.

Qualified and trained staff ensure safety and well-being of children and maintain an independent position in relation to parents/guardians and prioritise the needs of children.

Service programs offered

1. Supervised Contact

Supervised contact is restricted to our premises, and a trained Supervisor is present at all times during sessions. Sessions are allocated to 2 hours per fortnight.

2. Monitored Contact

As per supervised contact with the exception that one Supervisor will monitor two families.

3. Changeover/Changeback

Our service is used as the exchange point for children going on contact visits with a non-residential parent.

To facilitate smooth conflict free changeover, clients access our premises through separate entry points with slightly staggered arrival times. The parent presenting the children at the Centre then waits on our premises for 10 minutes whilst the other party leaves. Note, there is no time limit for the use of this service provision.

Eligibility and Costs

A parent/guardian who wants to use our services must:

  • complete a CWCS intake assessment

  • be determined eligible for CWCS programs

  • sign service agreements which identify the rights and responsibilities of participants.

For more information on assessment and eligibility criteria or to obtain an information pack, please contact CWCS - details are listed below.

A fee is charged for all service programs. Both parents are required to contribute to subsidised fees unless there is a court order or written agreement that stipulates that one party meets all the costs incurred with contact. Full Fee options are also available.
